Fun and Games: Party Pleasures For Kids Of All Ages
May 16, 2017 11:00 AM Back
Your wedding day will be preceded by a plethora of parties starting with the engagement extravaganza. But, you e-party should be more than just about mixing and mingling. It should be fun for everyone.
Think about hosting a haute event everyone can enjoy with a variety of interesting games to keep guests amused.
Here are just a few:
1. Couple’s Bingo: This puts a trendy twist on a traditional party favorite. Personalize bingo boards by crafting them yourself using colorful cardboard and be creative about what you will use as chips or markers. Replace standard letter/number combos with exciting images and fun phrases all about the couple and their relationship including where and how they met, where they will go for their honeymoon, etc. Once someone fills up five spaces (horizontally, diagonally or vertically) they WIN…so make sure you have plenty of prizes handy to hand out.
2. Couple’s Scrabble: Instead of a scrabble board…pass out pieces of paper featuring only the letters from the bride and groom’s names including middle names and surnames. Ask guests to make as many words as they can, using these letters. The individual with the most words WINS.
3. Who’s Who: This party favorite focuses on your guests. Ask the couple to give you some “dirt” on each of the attendees…then hand out this list to each guest. As attendees mix and mingle they also try to figure out who’s who by asking questions but not using any of the words on the list. For example if one fact says that one guest persued a singing career, guests may ask what the guest’s current occupation is and if they always wanted to do what they are currently doing.
4. Match Game: Print some photos of the happy couple (photos should equal half the number of invited guests) Cut pictures in half and randomly place halves in envelopes…then hand envelopes out to guests and ask them to mix and mingle to try to find the other half. If you want to make the game more interesting, cut photos in quarters.
5. Wedding Prep: Help get the couple ready for their big day with THIS fun game. Designed to simulate upcoming wedding and pre-wedding events this interactive game calls for the couple or teams to race against each other in events such as cutting the cake…who can dress for the big day the fastest, etc.
